On March 7th, 2020, IPPAM students and visiting researchers attended the Port of Long Beach tour hosted by the USC Metrans. The tour introduced students to the Port operations, observed the infrastructure projects such as the Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement and the electrified and automated Middle Harbor terminal, and catching a glimpse of local marine life.The Port of Long Beach Environmental Planning, Master Planning, and Transportation Planning Divisions also discussed the variety of groundbreaking green programs the Port has implemented to reduce the environmental impacts from port-related operations.
